Disìo Ristorante Siciliano was founded in San Vito Lo Capo, in the province of Trapani, from the idea of Giuseppe Alongi and Antonio Vultaggio: to bring to the table the most authentic flavors of traditional Sicilian cuisine, reinterpreted with a touch of creativity without ever distorting its essence. The name says it all: disìo, in Sicilian, means desire. And the desire that animates the restaurant every day is to offer a genuine gastronomic experience, deeply rooted in the Trapani territory.
Preparing fish couscous at Disìo is still a ritual that goes back to childhood Sundays, when you got up early to go to the marina to get fresh fish straight from the boats. The semolina was processed by hand in mafaradda, seasoned with aromas and spices, then cooked slowly in the couscous pot according to the traditional recipe of San Vito Lo Capo. Even today, Disìo's Sanvittese couscous is prepared with the same artisanal care, respecting every step of a technique handed down from generation to generation.
The menu of the Sicilian restaurant Disìo follows the seasons and the availability of local fish, ensuring freshness and quality in every dish. From seafood appetizers to typical Trapani fresh pasta, to fish main courses prepared with selected raw materials, each course brings with it the authentic flavor of the Mediterranean.
